During talks in Jerusalem with his Israeli counterpart, Benjamin Netanyahu, on Tuesday; the Greek Prime Minister, Kyriakos Mitsotakis, denounced what he called the aggressive behavior of Turkey in Libya, and the eastern Mediterranean.

During the meeting, Mitsotakis reviewed recent illegal Turkish actions along Greek maritime, air, and land borders. He stated that such activities posed a threat to regional peace, and stability.

He also pointed out to the destabilizing effects caused by the Turkish intervention in Libya, adding that “the maritime agreement signed between Ankara, and Libya’s Government of National Accord (GNA), is completely null and void”.

With Greece, Israel and Cyprus partnered up on energy projects in the eastern Mediterranean, Mitsotakis warned against what he called Turkey’s “aggressive behavior”. Turkey, which has declared part of the eastern Mediterranean a shared exploration area with Libya, says it is completely within its sovereign rights.
