The Commander-in-Chief of the Libyan National Army (LNA), Field Marshal Khalifa Haftar, received a tribal delegation consisting of elders and dignitaries from cities in southern and central Libya.

According to a statement from the LNA’s General Command, the tribal delegation expressed its gratitude to the Libyan army for successfully imposing and establishing security and stability in the Jufra region, central Libya.

The tribal leaders also congratulated Haftar on the 10th anniversary of the “al-Karama Revolution (dignity), which eradicated terrorist groups in the east and south of the country,” according to the statement.

In response, Haftar expressed his gratitude for the honorable role played by the citizens of southern Libya, representing various social components, and their commitment to the unity of Libyan territory.

In another context, Haftar hosted the Italian Prime Minister, Giorgia Meloni, at the General Command headquarters in Benghazi, along with her accompanying delegation.

The General Command’s media office reported that Field Marshal Haftar welcomed the Italian Prime Minister, expressing his gratitude and appreciation for her visit to Benghazi. The meeting focused on discussing the latest local and regional developments and exploring ways to enhance cooperation and coordination between the two countries.

Both parties discussed the importance of continuing to support the political process in Libya to ensure the successful conduct of presidential and parliamentary elections, aiming to achieve stability in the country.

She expressed her appreciation for the pivotal role of the Libyan Armed Forces in maintaining security and stability and emphasized her commitment to the unity of Libyan territory.

Libya has been marked by political instability and violent conflict since the fall of Colonel Muammar Gaddafi’s regime in 2011. In the aftermath of the Arab Spring, Libya fell into a prolonged civil war, resulting in divided authorities, economic collapse, and a humanitarian crisis.
