The Libyan Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation hosted a Ramadan Iftar banquet on Wednesday evening, led by Foreign Minister Dr. Abdel-Hadi Al-Hwaij. The event brought together ministry directors, office heads, and employees, reinforcing national unity and institutional solidarity.

The gathering emphasized the importance of fostering strong human and professional relationships within the ministry, given its role in representing Libya’s diverse regions—north, south, east, west, and central—on both domestic and international fronts.

In his address, Minister Al-Hwaij congratulated the ministry’s employees on the advent of Ramadan and stressed the importance of maintaining such traditions regularly across all state institutions. He highlighted that the Foreign Ministry operates as a close-knit family united by patriotism and unwavering dedication to serving Libya, despite any obstacles or challenges.

Al-Hwaij reiterated the ministry’s core mission: defending the rights of the Libyan people and upholding national sovereignty on regional and international platforms. He also underscored its primary goal—supporting the Libyan government, led by Prime Minister Osama Hammad, as the legitimate authority stemming from the legislative body.

Moreover, the minister emphasized the crucial role of the Libyan National Army (LNA), praising its efforts in eliminating extremist groups, combating terrorism, and embarking on the vital phase of reconstruction and national development.
