A fire broke out early this morning at the power station of Atiya Al-Kasih Hospital in Kufra, causing a complete power outage at the medical facility. The cause of the fire remains unknown at this time.

Libya’s Minister of Electricity and Renewable Energy, Awad Al-Badri, from the parliament-appointed government, stated that a specialized technical team has been formed to assess the damage and carry out urgent repairs as soon as possible. He emphasized the importance of securing the power station to prevent similar incidents in the future.

Meanwhile, Libya’s designated Prime Minister, Osama Hammad, reassured the full support of the government, directing all necessary resources to ensure continuous healthcare services at the hospital and prevent any disruption to patient care.

The incident raises concerns about infrastructure safety and power reliability in Libya’s healthcare facilities, prompting calls for enhanced fire prevention measures and power system upgrades.
