Libya’s Anti-Narcotics and Psychotropic Substances Bureau in Tobruk has successfully seized a significant quantity of hashish, totalling 5.1 kilograms, during a targeted raid on a house in the Souqifa Khareja neighbourhood.

According to a statement posted on Facebook, the operation led to the arrest of three suspects, while the primary dealer, identified as “A.Y.S.A.,” remains at large. The raid was conducted after weeks of intelligence gathering and close surveillance of the criminal network’s activities.

The Anti-Narcotics Bureau confirmed that investigators meticulously tracked the suspects’ movements, working in coordination with the Public Prosecution, which authorised the search warrant. Initial findings indicate that the confiscated drugs were intended for distribution in the local market, highlighting the extent of drug trafficking operations in the region.

The arrested individuals have been identified as “A.S.M.A.” from the Al-Hurriya neighbourhood, “K.M.B.M.” from Shabiyat Al-Manara, and “Sh.Y.S.Q.” from Souqifa Khareja. They have been handed over to the Public Prosecution, and the case has been officially registered under file number 2025/35.

Meanwhile, authorities continue their search for the fugitive suspect, believed to be the mastermind behind the drug trafficking network. Security forces have intensified their efforts to dismantle such operations, aiming to curb the spread of narcotics in eastern Libya.

The seizure underscores the ongoing battle against drug-related crime in Libya, where law enforcement agencies have ramped up their efforts to combat smuggling and illicit drug trade. The Anti-Narcotics Bureau urged citizens to cooperate with security forces by reporting any suspicious activities that could help prevent the distribution of illegal substances.
