A Libyan delegation has taken part in the General Assembly of the World Taekwondo Federation, held in the Chinese city of Wuxi. The delegation was led by the President of the Libyan Taekwondo Federation, Ali Saber, accompanied by the Federation’s Secretary-General, Hussein Al-Farouj.
The assembly witnessed broad international participation, discussing several key organizational and technical issues aimed at advancing the sport globally and across the continent.
During the event, the Libyan delegation held a series of productive meetings with representatives of both the World Taekwondo Federation and the African Taekwondo Union. The talks focused on ways to enhance cooperation, support Libya’s national plans to develop the sport, and strengthen the capabilities of Libyan athletes and officials.
The discussions also explored the possibility of organizing more regional and international championships in Libya in the coming years — a step seen as crucial for promoting sports diplomacy and fostering youth engagement through martial arts.
Libya’s active presence at the assembly highlights its growing commitment to sports development and international cooperation, particularly in building a stronger foundation for Taekwondo across the country.
