The Libyan Embassy in Cairo issued a statement announcing it has facilitated the evacuation of 142 Libyans from the Egyptian capital back to Libya.

Considering the closure of both Libya and Egypt’s airspaces, the embassy organised buses to deliver people back to Benghazi and Tripoli. The embassy added that it has taken all necessary precautions in ensuring not only the safety, but health of the travellers as all buses were disinfected before their departure.

The embassy stated that the last evacuation was carried out on Thursday night before the closing down of the Libyan-Egyptian border.

Finally, the embassy stated that it will continue to operate normally in order to ensure its citizens wellbeing during the international public health emergency.
