Libyan MP Condemns Libyan Political Dialogue Forum

Member of Parliament Ali Saidi has said that the Libyan Political Dialogue Forum (LPDF) in Tunisia has stolen legitimacy from the elected Libyan Parliament.

Saidi said on Monday that the Acting Head of the United Nations Support Mission in Libya (UNSMIL), Stephanie Williams, divided the political dialogue into more than one approach. He stated that this was allegedly to ensure that Islamist parties would come out victorious of the process.

In exclusive statements to Al-Ain News, Saidi explained that the participants invited were politically naive, and the forum was built on unfair grounds. He claimed that everyone knows that there is a dispute between the Muslim Brotherhood and the Libyan people.

Saidi pointed out that Williams’ work aims to remove national leaders from the political scene.
He concluded that the Libyan people have waited for the international community to take a serious stand to help them from extremist terrorism, and foreign interference. “The Libyans do not expect UNSMIL to contribute to the production of a new government, in order to hand over Libya to the greedy,” he added.
