Niger’s President Mahamadou Issoufou expressed his hope that the rival Libyan parties will reach a solution soon for the sake of the stability and development of the country.

Issoufou stressed that stability in Libya will lead to stability across the entire region. This came during a meeting in the capital Niamey with Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Government of National Accord (GNA) Mohamed Siala. This was on the sidelines of the meeting of the foreign ministers of the member states of the Spanish Agency for International Development Cooperation (AECID) in its 47th session.

According to a statement by the Libyan Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Siala briefed the President about the current situation in Libya and the ongoing political process taking place under the auspices of the UN.
