On Sunday, the Algerian President Abdelmadjid Tebboune discussed with his French counterpart Emmanuel Macron ways to enhance joint cooperation in dealing with the Libyan crisis and other issues.

A brief press release by the Algerian presidency indicated that Tebboune had received a phone call from Macron, which was mostly devoted to discussing developments in the Libyan crisis.

The statement added that part of the call witnessed an exchange of reassurance about the health of the two presidents due to their recent infection with the Coronavirus epidemic. They also discussed issues of common interest such as the situation in Mali and the Western Sahara.

The statement concluded with reference to the agreement of Tebboune and Macron to communicate by phone again at the beginning of next year to discuss the situation prevailing in Libya.
