Arab Parliament Refuses Turkish Threats Against LNA

On Sunday, the Arab Parliament Speaker, Adel bin Abdulrahman Al-Assoumi, announced his rejection of the blatant threats made by the Turkish Defence Minister Hulusi Akar against the Libyan National Army (LNA). He also stressed the Arab Parliament’s total rejection of Turkey’s interference in Libyan affairs.

In previous statements, Khaled Al-Mahjoub, the Director of the LNA’s Moral Guidance Department said that the LNA would respond to Turkey in an appropriate and unexpected manner. This statement was made in response to the Turkish Defence Minister’s recent threats of retaliation against any LNA attack.

In statements to Al-Arabiya TV, Al-Mahjoub added that Egypt is a true partner for Libya’s national security, noting that the Egyptians support the outcomes of the Berlin Conference and the LNA.

In a position that confirms the illegal Turkish interference in Libya, and the malicious intentions of Turkey to fragment the country to control its wealth, the Turkish Minister of Defence appeared to threaten the LNA, claiming that it represents a legitimate target for the Turkish forces present within the borders of Libya.
