The city of Benghazi is preparing to host the “Libya Digital” exhibition and forum on the digital economy, telecommunications, and technology next June, in an event expected to attract broad local and international participation.
Fouad Al-Awam, regional director of the Arab Union for International Exhibitions and Conferences, said the event is being organised by the General Authority for Exhibitions and Conferences in cooperation with the Benghazi Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Agriculture.
The forum is set to bring together companies and institutions specialising in telecommunications, technology, and digital systems, alongside commercial entities and stakeholders interested in Libya’s growing digital economy sector.
According to Al-Awam, the event aims to support professional exchange and keep pace with the latest technological developments, while creating opportunities for cooperation between local and international firms operating in the digital and communications industries.
The programme will include workshops, panel discussions, and presentations by participating companies, offering attendees insights into modern digital solutions and emerging technologies shaping the sector.
Organisers said the forum will also provide a platform for institutions and businesses to establish partnerships and cooperation agreements, as Libya continues efforts to modernise its technological infrastructure and expand digital transformation initiatives.
The event comes amid increasing interest in the digital economy across Libya, with both public and private sector institutions seeking to improve telecommunications services, digital systems, and technological innovation as part of broader economic development plans.
