Saleh & Kubis Discuss Latest Developments in Libya

On Wednesday, the Speaker of the Libyan Parliament, Ageela Saleh met with the Head of the United Nations Support Mission in Libya (UNSMIL) Janis Kubis. They discussed the latest developments of the political process in Libya.

During the meeting, Saleh confirmed that the parliament has begun preparing a law for direct Presidential elections. They also discussed the distribution of electoral districts across the country, to meet the electoral entitlement on time.

Saleh assured Kubis that the Parliament has fulfilled its pledges, calling on all parties to work to fulfil theirs, including the appointment of leadership positions to sovereign state positions. They also stressed the necessity of holding the elections on 24 December 2021.
