Libyan Footballer Appointed Captain of Italian Team

Libyan footballer, Ahmad Benali, who plays for FC Crotone, entered the history of Libyan football after becoming the first Libyan football player to wear the captain’s armband for his club

Benali, plays in the Serie B In Libya, was officially presented as captain of the Italian team in a press conference, he said: “It is a great honor for me to become the captain of the team and I will try to do my best with my colleagues in order to help the team return toSerie A.”

Benali added: “I chose to stay with FC Crotone because I am very happy to play with them, and I hope that we will meet the expectations of the city’s fans.”

Benali joined FC Crotone in January 2018 from Pescara and has a contract with the team until June 2023.

The professional footballer who was born in England started his career at Manchester City youth team, he joined the club at eight years old and signed his first professional contract on his 17th birthday. Benali was given the captaincy in the youth team at Manchester City.
