On Tuesday, the Russian Deputy Foreign Minister and Special Presidential Representative for the Middle East and Africa, Mikhail Bogdanov, received the Egyptian Ambassador to Moscow, Ihab Nasr, to discuss a number of issues of mutual interest.

The officials held an in-depth discussion on the current regional developments, primarily Libya.

They pointed out the importance of communicating with the Libyan political powers to reach an immediate ceasefire and establish a new political initiative in the country.

They called on the international community to intervene to prevent the escalation of tensions in the Middle East and North Africa.

They also discussed strengthening the multifaceted Russian-Egyptian relations, including at international venues.
