Libya’s Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Abdulhadi Al-Hwaij, held talks with Hassan Ahmat Dassire to discuss preparations to open a Chadian consulate general in Benghazi.
The meeting took place at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs headquarters in Benghazi and was attended by Chadian attaché Omar Yosko Togol. Discussions focused on the administrative and organizational arrangements required to complete the procedures for officially launching the consulate.
Officials said the planned diplomatic mission would strengthen Chad’s diplomatic and consular representation in eastern Libya while also enhancing communication and cooperation between the two countries. The new consulate is expected to facilitate services for Chadian citizens residing in Libya and support institutional coordination between authorities in both countries.
During the meeting, Al-Hwaij stressed the importance of strengthening Libya’s relations with Chad and expanding collaboration to serve the interests of both nations. He emphasized Libya’s commitment to supporting regional partnerships and promoting cooperation that contributes to stability and development in North and Central Africa.
For his part, the Consul General expressed appreciation for the reception in Benghazi and reaffirmed his country’s commitment to enhancing relations with Libya. He described the opening of the consulate as a strategic step that would improve institutional communication and promote cooperation in consular, economic, and social fields.
