Seven successful kidney transplant operations have been completed at Ibn Sina Teaching Hospital in Sirte as part of the sixth phase of the national transplant program, marking another step forward in Libya’s developing healthcare sector.

The procedures were carried out by a specialized medical team, concluding a new phase of the initiative aimed at providing advanced treatment for patients suffering from kidney failure. The program continues to offer hope to patients from across Libya who previously faced long waiting periods or the need to travel abroad for such complex surgeries.

The sixth phase builds on earlier stages launched in recent months, reflecting sustained efforts to expand organ transplant services داخل the country and strengthen local medical capabilities.

Medical programs of this kind are seen as a major milestone in improving access to specialized care, reducing the burden on patients and their families, and supporting the long-term development of Libya’s healthcare infrastructure.

The continuation of kidney transplant operations at Ibn Sina Hospital highlights growing confidence in domestic medical teams and the increasing ability of Libyan institutions to deliver complex procedures locally.
