A member of the Libyan Parliament, Saeed Imgheib, renewed on Friday his claim that Turkish military cargo planes have not stopped landing in Turkish bases in Libya.

In a post published on his personal account on Facebook, Imgheib said: “The Turkish military cargo planes have not stopped landing in Turkish bases in Libya following the Geneva Agreement.”

Imgheib added that simultaneous to when the Head of the United Nations Support Mission was talking about the results of the Geneva dialogue and a permanent ceasefire agreement, a Turkish cargo plane landed at the Uqba ibn Nafi Airbase (al-Watiya).

He indicated that this coincided with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan’s announcement that he did not believe that the ceasefire agreement would last for long, describing it as “fragile.”

The Libyan MP went on saying that the Government of National Accord refused to open the road linking the east to the west of Libya, and even proceeded to arrest travellers from Benghazi after the 5+5 Joint Military Commission held a meeting in Ghadames.
