Security Council’s P5 Members to Hold a Summit on Libya

Russian Foreign Minister, Sergey Lavrov, said that the five permanent members of the UN Security Council have agreed to hold a summit on the situation in Libya.

Russian President, Vladimir Putin, proposed in January, a summit be held between the leaders of Russia, China, United States, France and Britain, this year to discuss the conflict in Libya, and other global crises.

In January, eleven heads of states, including Russia and Turkey, participated in a summit in Berlin where an agreement was made to establish a ceasefire between the warring parties, and bring an end to foreign interference in Libya.
